CUCCNM Builds 201st Habitat House

Foundation of 201st Habitat House

In October 2015, members of the Congregational United Church of Christ Neenah/Menasha (CUCCNM) will begin work on the 201st house for the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat. The 201st house is a milestone not only for the local Habitat affiliate, but also for the congregation. Habitat for Humanity in this area started as a mission project of CUCCNM in 1993, and its members also built the 1st (in 1995) and 101st (in 2008) Habitat houses. The church and its members are looking forward to providing the leadership for Habitat Build 201. Through this work, they are honoring their past while building for the future.

E2F: Families Feeding Families

E2F Pans at First Congregational Church

Each fall and spring members of First Congregational UCC, Appleton prepare food in their own homes for the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley. This is a great project for the whole family, and with only five pans required to serve one meal at the shelter, these donations go a long way to serve those in need. Members simply take a pan with a recipe included, purchase ingredients, assemble the recipe, and freeze the pan to be cooked when needed at the shelter.

Youth in Action

First Congo Youth at Tool Training

In 2011 at First Congregational UCC, Appleton, we began to live out our commitment to children, youth, and families more fully, and this year that initiative has produced exciting results. Attendance in our Church School and youth programs has increased dramatically, and the youth themselves are actively contributing to church life by taking part in the enactment of their own programs.
